The group’s Love Yourself album series can be seen as a traditional narrative arc, and this historic smash is the part in the story where the band mines the depths of despair, loneliness and heartbreak. So it felt natural that the K-pop superstars sonically pushed themselves to new places as well, wallowing in the angst of this track’s emo-rap vibes and its wailing chorus. It’s not enough for BTS to pen another breakup song — the real tragedy, they say, is the sense of self lost in the wreckage of a failed love. – C.K.
Time travelers from the future walk among us in "Travelers," executing secret orders in order to change the future. This Netflix show has some cool ideas about dealing with the pressures of saving the world, along with the ways messing with the present can affect the future.
There exists no observational evidence damning Mannkind’s emissions of COâ as causing planetary warming. The ‘evidence’ that has convinced so many, is not observational. It is, simply, statistical inferences based upon climate models. Highly flawed models.
Also, if the asteroid is so dense that a pebble of it crushed a metallic table, then how did Burnham pick up and hold a larger segment of it while beaming up from the Hiawatha site? And how did the Hiawatha and all its inhabitants not get crushed on the asteroid’s surface along with the landing party when they arrived?
The effort was certainly unusual. On page 21, he presents a facsimile of a well-known photograph of the lunar surface, the black of outer space cresting up beyond the horizon behind. It bears a terse caption: “Where are the STARS?” Yes, it was foolish of NASA’s counterfeiters to have left stars out of what Kaysing concludes is an obvious composite. Were these photos as fraudulent as he maintains, and had they included whatever details whose absence he cites as clinching proof of their fraudulence, Kaysing would chalk the added touches up to NASA’s fastidiousness. Photos can be faked. So, of course, they must be.
To me it would be huge, I would hope it would cause more interest in space exploration and accelerate it’s growth, not to mention more wonder as to what intelligent life might be out there.
Conveniently, this poorly known collection of “forcings” just happens to add up — just the amount of fudge factor that is needed.

The next leg felt, as the kids might say, more real. As a road, the Dalton was still marvelous, but the terrain started to show signs of true nothingness. Fewer rolling hills and more goliath shards of rock sticking up like compound fractures in the greenery. A sign put a finer point on it: 240 miles with no resources. Hardly any signs of modern life at all, it turned out. Even the thin forests of conifers look like they struggle for life. I was reminded of POW images from a history textbook—the trees look like emaciated prisoners, with a special resolve in their pose, scraggly but strong. Just before carving through the looming, snow-sheathed Brooks Range I passed the “Farthest North Spruce.” No explanation needed.
Few action games have demonstrated such an impressive grasp on what makes VR tick like Superhot. This spin-off of the first-person shooter in which time moves only when you move has you doing your best Neo-impression as you methodically pick off enemies using whatever’s at hand. Superhot understands that fast-paced action can often be overwhelming in VR, and slows things down to the point that you can perfectly capture your inner-Hollywood hero. Every level is a nerve-shredding exercise in fast-thinking and slick execution. If there’s one game that proves VR can elevate one of the industry’s most popular genres, it’s this.
Deep sea diving is the perfect set up for a VR game, allowing us to easily immerse ourselves in a world that otherwise takes hours of training and thousands of dollars worth of equipment to do right. Fortunately, Subnatuica gives you literally an ocean of content to explore in VR. It is at times incredibly peaceful and soothing, allowing you to get lost amongst the waves. When you need it to be, though, it’s also visceral and exciting with something fantastical to discover around every corner. This is one of VR’s biggest and best games.
“Programming the SXSW Midnighters section is always a favorite part of my job, and this year was no exception,” said Jarod Neece, SXSW Senior Film Programmer. “We get to peek into the collective consciousness of the world of genre filmmakers working today. This year’s selections are a mix of horror, thriller, sci-fi and fantasy with a good dose of feral children, haunted houses, extraterrestrial creatures and the undead to creep out SXSW audiences late into the night. Genre films can be found throughout the entire SXSW program from Jordan Peele’s ‘Us’ on Opening Night to our Closing Night Film, ‘Pet Sematary’!”
