“Making a Murderer” (Season 1 on Netflix)This intensive documentary series covers the story of Steven Avery, who was exonerated of a rape accusation before being arrested for murder. The sorted story is spread out over 10 episodes, raising plenty of questions about whether Avery is guilty along the way.

Yeah I don’t get the point of saying specifically the character came from a Luddite community to join the away team and yet did absolutely nothing with it once they got there. Clearly they were just looking for some excuse to have the character there but I think they could’ve just said she has the most experience of the crew going undercover on pre-warp away team missions and left it at that (especially since Discovery is really a science vessel and not a exploratory one).

So I never doubted that DIS couldn’t improve, it was just a matter of how and when? But even though I loved the episode I’m not going to declare its now a great show for me, but it shows it can be and no matter what should be a better show then first season at least. I just didn’t care about the Klingon war at all. And then the show made me want to care even less after watching it. But this story so far I feel the complete opposite. Its Star Trek being sciency and maybe even weird again. I love sciency and weird Trek so bring it!!!!

Think of another outfit that’s had such decades-long legs. Everyone who’s seen this spacey Nigel Dick-directed mini-space epic – the follow-up to the equally one-of-a-kind “… Baby One More Time” – can instantly picture Brit’s second-skin red pleather catsuit (which was her idea, as was the concept of dancing on Mars). The whole experience is a crash course in Britney 101: seductive, if a bit wooden, group dancing; hard-core eye contact with the camera; requisite bare mid-riff squirming; and a silly comedic bit, all of which remain key parts of the star’s rust-free brand blueprint to this day. – G.K.

Here’s a random useless question: What happens if Star Trek survives another 35 years? Will they have to retcon WWIII? The Third World War, breaking the warp barrier, and first contact seemed far in the future when Star Trek First Contact came out in 1996, but now they seem too close for comfort. I don’t see humanity achieving warp travel 44 years from now and I certainly don’t like the idea of global thermonuclear war within my lifetime.

I think we’re safe. Pike did say in the episode something along the lines of “Aliens with advance technology would be indistinguishable from God”. The modified Arthur C. quote.
