In October 1961, W. Irving Beauchamp displayed his new product: canned water. Beauchamp was canning sterilized artesian water – primarily for stocking in fallout shelters – and had distributed a dozen cases to grocers in the Northern Neck area of Virginia. Beauchamp got the idea after hearing talk about fallout shelters – he figured the canned water would last about two years.

Using PSVR’s Aim controller to great effect, Firewall offers perhaps the most convincing, arresting online combat in the entire industry. Short, sharp 4 v 4 battles see players working together to clear maps of the enemy. Each match creates a terrific air of tension as you hunt down other players and then trade bullets from behind cover. It’s early days for Firewall but we’d bet this is one of PSVR’s most enduring games.

A newish Synapse feature lets you adjust system performance. There are three modes: Balanced, Gaming and Creator. Balanced gives you the optimal performance for battery life and overall performance, while Creator and Gaming increases power to the CPU and GPU, respectively. Each of these settings lets you toggle fan speed and the screen refresh cap.

Highway 137, also known as the Kapoho-Kalapana, or Red, Road, was closed between Kamaili Road and Pohoiki Road, cutting off one of the access points for those living east and south of Leilani Estates. Those communities include Kehena, Kaimu and Kalapana. The residents can still leave the area through Highway 130, the Pahoa-Kalapana Road, at least for now, so a mandatory evacuation is not in place.

Yes. It is hared to completely disagree with what Afterburn said. The problem I often have is HOW he says it. Many of his disagreeing posts have a very bitter and antagonizing subtext. I do not know if it is intention or not to be honest. Maybe that is just how he writes…

However, I think this sequence served a very important story function because it helped solidify the trust between Pike and his new crew. In that respect, it was more narratively valuable than similar sequences in ST09 or StiD which largely were just spectacle for the sake of spectacle.
