I agree that the cliffhanger in season 1 had a different purpose. It was to get people who had watched part 1 on CBS to check out CBS All Access for part 2. I kind of preferred the ending of this season premiere to the second half of season 1 where each episode seemed to end with a big “WTF” twist.

But there is a Porsche connection, of sorts. In 1996, a year after McLaren’s F1 GTR won Le Mans on its first attempt, rivals Porsche and Mercedes responded with dedicated, no-compromise racing cars, modifying them just enough to create road-car spin-offs for homologation. The results were the 911 GT1 Strassenversion and Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR. Both legal according to FIA rules but, as the English would say indignantly, stiff upper lip trembling, just not cricket.

For a notebook with dimensions as slim as the Blade 15, it manages to fit a surprising number of ports.

I was thinking the other day about the stuff in Trek which leads to our life and thought about the PADDs and the iPad or Kindle. Then I remembered about JLP at one point was researching something (probably archeology) and he had like 20 or more PADDs on his desk. Even at the time I thought that’s dumb, when we have that technology, why would you have more than one, or maybe two. Clearly those don’t just have one document each on them.

- The opening scene of Han running from stormtroopers with a vial of coaxium plays out sort of like the opening to any of the Indiana Jones movies, which always open with Indy running away from bad guys (or traps) with some sort of artifact or treasure. There’s an Indiana Jones-ness to this movie in general.  – Perhaps the BIGGEST revelation of all about Han is the origin of his last name. In the Legends canon, House Solo was once the ruling family in Corellia (yes, Han descended from royalty in this timeline). In Solo, it’s revealed that Han’s last name was given to him by an Imperial officer during his application to the Academy.  – Han’s father is mentioned in the movie, although we never get to meet him. This would indicate Han had another last name when he was a kid, but has chosen to abandon it. In the Legends timeline, Han was orphaned at a young age. There’s no mention of his parents at all.

In this case, its not a cliffhanger its just one part of a much longer story. But if you were still feel disappointed, thats understandable.

I love Frain as Sarek, but the way he is written and all the top secret stuff he’s involved with kind of makes me think that he’s next in line to join section 31.
