In a small agricultural town in the Florida Everglades, hopes for the future are concentrated on the youth. Four teens face heartbreak and celebrate in the rituals of an extraordinary senior year.
A gravity concentration test was conducted on each composite using a Knelson MD3 laboratory-scale concentrator to produce an intermediate gravity concentrate which was subsequently cleaned on a laboratory scale Wilfley table. Gravity tests used a 10kg subsample from each composite that had been ground to 80% -150 µm in a laboratory ball mill. The flowsheet for this work can be found in Figure 4. Integrated gravity results from the three composites can be found in Table 3.
Marlon 2012: “The recovery or reforestation following the widespread disturbance of the 1800s can be seen in stand-age data from forest inventories from the western United States (Fig. S1). These data show a modal year of stand origin in the first decade of the 20th century, with half the stands originating between 1870 and 1950 CE.”
The debate over the nature of the red angel is reminiscent of the same debate over Bajor’s Prophets, seen as “wormhole aliens” to members of Starfleet. But this season promises to go deeper into this debate and how religion and faith are perceived in the Federation of the future. As for the big mystery itself, “New Eden” didn’t provide any answers yet, but there are hints that the red bursts may be part of some kind of galactic morality test. While it is a minefield, so far this entire foray into the issue of faith remains intriguing and hopefully can avoid some of the heavy-handedness the series dabbled in the first season when dealing with some hot topics.
"She was adamant you can’t back away from the crazy" was how director Chris Marrs Piliero summarized the Artist Formerly Known as K-Money’s approach to the "Blow" video, which sounds about right: Lasers, unicorns, muenster cheese, no-soap-radio jokes, a pre-meme James Van der Beek, and a whole lot of glitter (natch) combine in the "Blow" video for a visual of singular early-’10s lunacy. That the era’s cheekiest director and most game pop star only worked together once remains a bummer, but their sole collab remains a slice of pure lactose gold. – A.U.
Agreed! I didn’t mind the scene but it did feel a lot like the space jump scene, even with the cocky crew man getting his early on.

Importantly, they also stayed on the right side of cheesy. Family flashbacks et al. have often made me cringe in past Trek, but they did not feel cheesy in this episode. I particularly want to commend composer Jeff Russo for the subtle and atmospheric music in this episode. Particularly the Angel vision could have been such a cheesy moment drowned out by soppy strings in typical movie score fashion, but instead the subtle and ethereal score succeeded in making it a moment of wonder. Also, the Discovery musical theme worked for me for the first time in the haunting way it was arranged in the final moments of the episode.
In April 1960, members of the Richmond Virginians lined up ahead of their International League season opener at Parker Field against Toronto. The Vees played in Richmond from 1954 to 1964 and were the AAA affiliate of the New York Yankees for much of that span.
