- There’s honestly no reason you shouldn’t know this, but for the sake of the one poor soul who doesn’t: Han Solo was originally played by Harrison Ford in A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, and The Force Awakens. He is played by Alden Ehrenreich in Solo.  – Han Solo is introduced as a petty thief on the planet Corellia, which is located at the Core of the galaxy. This has been Han’s established homeworld since the days of the Legends canon. It was first mentioned in A New Hope but didn’t appear as an actual location until the 100th issue of Marvel’s classic Star Wars comic.  - Solo opens with Han’s life as a street urchin, stealing and running cons on the streets of Corellia. The Paradise Snare by A.C. Crispin, which told Han’s origin story in the Legends timeline, also establishes Han as a kid who lived on the streets before being picked up by a criminal named Garrus Shrike and forced to work on a pirate ship called Trader’s Luck.

The scientists I sometimes hear on NPR’s Science Friday are excitable and funny! Funny like Reno or funny like Tilly. And some scientists, like other people, may have some personality issues. As for Tilly not being “realistic,” I’m an introvert who plays an extrovert and am impossibly awkward in social situations. I was also kickass at my specialty in the military. Things aren’t black/white. Contrast and appositional traits are human, and that’s part of why Tilly is such a hit with many Disco fans.

The first Marvel show to make it to Hulu is a refreshing change from the Netflix takes. It follows a group of teenagers as they realize not only that they’re special, but that their conspiratorial parents are not to be trusted. At 10 episodes, it’s a quick watch and an interesting take on superhero TV shows.

Enjoyed the hell out of the episode. I wanted to hate season one but ended up enjoying it. This, though, is much, much better.

A pivotal video in Taylor Swift’s pop mythology, "You Belong With Me" saw the burgeoning superstar still playing the underdog, whose cartoonish glasses, school-pride wardrobes, and goofy dance moves made her the idol (and/or go-to Halloween costume) for a generation of unsatisfied overachievers. But don’t forget she plays the bad girl in the video, too, and with equal aplomb; listen closely as she marks her territory with the boy next door in her red convertible, and you can hear the snakes from the Reputation Tour hissing impatiently in the distance. – A.U.
