Storm could deliver snow to region during Tuesday evening rush hour; many schools call for early dismissal
There are actually four seasons’ worth of episodes of “Black Mirror” available on Netflix, but at only six episodes each, the series is just contained enough that you can get through the whole thing in a couple of days. It’s worth it, too, as “Black Mirror” puts a “Twilight Zone” twist on modern technology and human relationships.
In 2015, McLaren resurrected the Longtail name for the sublime 675LT, the first of a new stream of high performance supercars. Nowadays, the LT treatment is similar to Porsche’s RS tag: lighter, faster, more focused, and of course, a wheelbarrow load of banknotes more expensive than the car on which it’s based.
Reading this is just too hard to handle. Either this Trek has Jumped the Shark, or the author had a nice pinchet for overstating… Oh forget it, it’s Jumped the Shark.
We also got the first indications of some new relationships. Saru and Pike are starting off with a bit of a rivalry as Pike comes on board to take shared custody of the ship. Pike and Burnham also show good chemistry, and one very different than her always a bit tense interactions with Lorca. After initially butting heads, these two show they make a good team, ready to take on the big mysteries of the seven signals and their shared bonding over Spock. Anson Mount demonstrated his impressive range, able to carry much of the action as well as developing these character dynamics so soon after joining the cast.
I agree the space jumping is getting old (we had it in STID and “The Vulcan Hello,” too), but at least this one had a point that the others didn’t; it showed that Pike had won Burnham’s trust.
- There’s honestly no reason you shouldn’t know this, but for the sake of the one poor soul who doesn’t: Han Solo was originally played by Harrison Ford in A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, and The Force Awakens. He is played by Alden Ehrenreich in Solo. – Han Solo is introduced as a petty thief on the planet Corellia, which is located at the Core of the galaxy. This has been Han’s established homeworld since the days of the Legends canon. It was first mentioned in A New Hope but didn’t appear as an actual location until the 100th issue of Marvel’s classic Star Wars comic. - Solo opens with Han’s life as a street urchin, stealing and running cons on the streets of Corellia. The Paradise Snare by A.C. Crispin, which told Han’s origin story in the Legends timeline, also establishes Han as a kid who lived on the streets before being picked up by a criminal named Garrus Shrike and forced to work on a pirate ship called Trader’s Luck.
“The arguments basically from the companies seem to be, if they have a lease, they can do what they want,” Fershee said. “You have a right to do a lot, but it’s not unlimited. That’s why it’s called ‘reasonable’ and ‘necessary.’”
Also, the aforementioned Ramanathan & Collins 1991: âObservations made during the 1987 El Niño show that in the upper range of sea surface temperatures, the greenhouse effect increases with surface temperature at a rate which exceeds the rate at which radiation is being emitted from the surface. In response to this ‘super greenhouse effect’, highly reflective cirrus clouds are produced which act like a thermostat shielding the ocean from solar radiation.â
Mae coaching Tilly on how to save New Eden really makes me think this was another manifestation of the Red Angel.

I stopped at the Arctic Circle and met an Eastern European man with his shirt off. His English was broken, but I gathered he was amazed that it was nearly 70 degrees. For context, about 20 miles north I passed Prospect Camp, where once upon a time in 1971 it was 150 degrees colder—that’s 80 below, a U.S. record that still stands. Granted, not in mid-June. I set the cruise for some of the straight sections and the GS galloped along like a sled dog with its tongue hanging out. Working itself, droning across the tundra with rocks intermittently pinging off the skid plate, in the most innate way.
