Here’s an analogy of money. I have a pile of coins. Feldman comes along and adds five dimes to my pile of coins. However, during the same as Feldman added dimes, Dong, Xi & Minnis removed five quarters. Do I have less money, or more? In this fictitious example, Feldman used a piece of paper with a dime-sized hole in it; he placed that over the pile of money, and arranged all the times in a flat stack, so that they protruded through the hole in the paper. All the rest of the coins were covered by that paper. He added five dimes. Everyone could plainly see the dimes, because the paper covered everything else. Clearly there are more dimes per square metre, than there were before. However, Dong, Xi & Minnis had removed five quarters. Despite the more dimes per square metre, there was less money.
I think they could do it but people probably shouldn’t get their hopes up it won’t be for a few years. They made it clear we won’t even see the Section 31 show until Discovery is off the air which obviously could be years. I think the plan is to keep on two live shows at once (currently Discovery and the Picard show) but no more then that. Of course who knows how firm that is but with so many animated shows too I think thats the plan.
I thought the ACC line was great because it showed an evolution of philosophy, something we rarely see in Trek. Most philosophy in Trek has been rooted in the present or past.

However, as stated in the review, there wasn’t enough time, and while Frakes did a Captain’s job of handling the constraints, what’s the fear of running over? This could have easily run 10 more minutes on the planet and left out some of the holes there and with zero effects the cost would be just a few hours of filming at most. I don’t understand why so many episodes clock in at 45 minutes or less. Go 50 minutes or an hour. I thought the point of this was that it was not running on commercial tv. And if it needs to down the road, make a 43 minute cut as well.
With transporters and shuttles incapable of helping in rescue operations, the only way to reach the USS Hiawatha is via an elaborate high-octane action sequence featuring cool new little one-man ships dodging space rocks. Michael Burnham leads Pike and his entourage down; however, to show the stakes, Connolly doesn’t make it as his craft gets wiped out in a puff of arrogance. Tropes aside, this sequence was some of the best action we have seen on the series so far, punctuated by impressive special effects and a more aggressive musical score.
