Ratchet and Clank creator Insomniac Games took us to dark places with its first VR game, which remains as close to Dead Space and Resident Evil 4 as you’ll yet find in the Rift. Edge of Nowhere takes you on both an Arctic expedition gone wrong and a descent into madness as you journey through frozen wastes in search of a lost team. This isn’t necessarily the type of game that couldn’t be done outside of VR, but that doesn’t change the fact that playing it inside a headset amplifies the pulse-pounding scraps. A treat of a more traditional game.
The one part with B&C that would let it skate is that Merrick isn’t a Starfleet captain, he is some kind of merchant marine. Yet he is treated like he broke the oath, which suggests that the PD is Federation rather than Starfleet (which is what I believed up until TNG era.) Otherwise, you can have Harry Mudds running around everywhere doing free prime directive violations everywhere and there’s nothing Starfleet can do to prevent that short of picket service in every star system with an exploitable population, which would be more than a fulltime job for the Federation.
As far as I remember they didn’t show where the pods emerged from Discovery but given the length of the tunnel ride it would almost have to be the front. So they have them parked below the shuttle bay on the back but launch from the front? It would be interesting to know if the VFX team actually built those tubes into their ship model. Unfortunately, it’s far from the first time something like that has happened on Trek, and it hasn’t limited to Abrams Trek, either. For example, there’s the infamous turbolift shaft scene in TFF, and if I remember correctly the final fight between Riker and the viceroy in NEM was supposed to take place on the lowest deck of the Ent-E but ended with the viceroy falling down a deep shaft.
I stopped at the Arctic Circle and met an Eastern European man with his shirt off. His English was broken, but I gathered he was amazed that it was nearly 70 degrees. For context, about 20 miles north I passed Prospect Camp, where once upon a time in 1971 it was 150 degrees colder—that’s 80 below, a U.S. record that still stands. Granted, not in mid-June. I set the cruise for some of the straight sections and the GS galloped along like a sled dog with its tongue hanging out. Working itself, droning across the tundra with rocks intermittently pinging off the skid plate, in the most innate way.
Most (80%) of the Oxygen we breathe, comes from those ocean plants. Mostly, GREEN phytoplankton. IF 60% have died off, then we’d have (0.6â¢0.8)=0.48 about 48% reduction in our Oxygen supply. Don’t you think, we would have noticed that, by now?
Giving the attorney general a deadline, the chairs of top House committees said they needed to make an "independent assessment of the evidence" from the special counsel’s probe
The dams’ unique construction makes them vulnerable to a bizarre and potentially devastating process called liquefaction. When that happens, a solid material seemingly resting safely in place can abruptly become a murky liquid, flowing downhill and destroying nearly everything in its path.
“I’m a Mess” is a welcome reminder that Bebe Rexha is capable of striking gold outside of collaborations, too. The track is simultaneously self-deprecating and optimistic, built around Rexha’s self-assurances on the chorus that everything will turn out all right — after all, her therapist said so. Rexha scored her first solo top 40 hit with the clever cut, thanks in part to a well-choreographed music video (which transported fans into an insane asylum), an elaborate performance of the track at the 2018 MTV EMAs and an even more buzzworthy one at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. She’s since been lighting up the Jingle Ball circuit, with "Mess" providing her best opportunity yet to shine all on her own. — GAB GINSBERG

Those unlucky landowners should have to agree to have large centralized pads on their land, and they should be fairly compensated, with a share of the gas profits like gas owners get through royalties, according to the West Virginia Surface Owners’ Rights Organization, which lobbies for landowners.
Why you need it: Not every stripe-removal job calls for permanent stripe removal. Some may allow for cover-up paint, or any scarring device to take off thermoplastics, epoxies, or tape that will be soon resurfaced with new asphalt. But if stripes will be removed and replaced in a new location, then it would be inappropriate to leave a deep scar or mark behind with a scarifier when there are far better tools – like no-scar rotary erasing.
